Floor lamp

Background
The brief is to design a versatile lamp for home wellbeing, with a focus on environmental quality, which could possibly be featured in Artemide's product catalog, an esteemed Italian lighting brand established in Milan in 1960. Today, Artemide stands as a global leader in providing medium and high-end residential and professional lighting solutions. Their products go beyond mere light sources, as they also aim to evoke emotions, aligning with the brand's philosophy that addresses both human and environmental needs.
Analysis
Young adults (20-35 years old), are forced to carry out different activities in the same environment, mainly because of the lack of space and/or light in other rooms.
Most users are dissatisfied with the lighting in their homes, not only because of the incorrect positioning of the lighting - fixed and/or non-adjustable - but also the excessive number of lighting points.
The challenge is to design an adaptable lighting system, not designed for a specific space but that can fit into different multifunctional environments.

Final concept
Éos, meaning dawn in Greek, recalls the rising Sun that moves in the sky, since the light can be easily moved from the bottom to the top of the lamp body. Drawing inspiration from the cosmic world of "Star Wars" and its spaceships, éos's sleek and minimal design will transport you to a galaxy far, far away. Immerse yourself in the charm of celestial bodies as this lamp brings a touch of science fiction right into your home. May the light be with you!
The lamp body adapts to user needs, leaning against the wall or transforming into a floor lamp. Easily adjust the configuration by moving the pipe bars closer, with quick joint blocking and unblocking through the base button.
According to Artemide’s attention towards sustainability, Éos components and their joints have been designed to be packaged disassembled therefore significantly reducing the volume of the packaging. The delivery box dimensions are 350x1650x120 mm.
Designed together with Francesco Roversi.
